Dermatologist Consultation

A Dermatologist consultation is the best way to get answers and treatment for skin conditions that are not improving with usual care. Dermatologists are medical specialists trained to diagnose and manage all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. At DermLab, you’ll receive a thorough assessment, clear diagnosis, and a tailored treatment plan — all in one appointment.

Why See a Dermatologist?

Dermatologists undergo one of the longest and most comprehensive training pathways in medicine.

To become a Dermatology Specialist, a doctor must complete:

  • 6 years of medical school

  • 2+ years of junior hospital training, often in general medicine, paediatrics, or surgery, gaining broad experience in complex medical care

  • 4+ years of advanced Dermatology training unde supervision, including adult and paediatric dermatology, skin cancer, surgery, inflammatory skin disease, and systemic treatments

This means it takes at least 8 years after medical school — often longer — before a doctor can qualify as a Dermatology Specialist. When you see a Dermatologist at DermLab, you’re consulting with a doctor who has completed this extensive training pathway and is highly skilled in recognising and managing both common and rare skin diseases.

How It Works

  1. History – Your Dermatologist will listen carefully to your concerns and medical history.

  2. Examination – A detailed skin, hair, or nail assessment is performed.

  3. Diagnosis – Using specialist knowledge and tools (such as dermoscopy).

  4. Treatment Plan – Clear advice on medical, surgical, or procedural treatments tailored to your condition.

  5. Follow-up – Arranged if ongoing monitoring or therapy is required.
