Hair, Scalp & Nails
Hair Loss / Thinning
Hair loss, or alopecia, is common and may result from genetics, hormonal changes, stress, illness, or medications. It can show as thinning, shedding, or bald spots. Early diagnosis and treatment improve the chances of managing hair loss and supporting regrowth.
Flaky or Itchy Scalp
An itchy, flaky scalp is often caused by dandruff, dermatitis, psoriasis, or product buildup, and may be triggered by harsh shampoos, seasonal changes, or hair dyes. Using gentle cleansers, medicated shampoos, and avoiding irritants can greatly improve scalp health.
Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that often affects the hands, feet, underarms, or face. It can be triggered by heat, stress, or occur without cause, even at rest. While not harmful, it can be disruptive and affect confidence. Treatments range from topical and oral medications to Botox or other medical procedures.
Brittle or Thickened Nails
Brittle or thickened nails may be caused by aging, repeated wetting and drying, harsh chemicals, nutritional deficiencies, or conditions like thyroid disease or psoriasis. Thickened nails can also signal fungal infection. Moisturising, wearing gloves, eating a balanced diet, and gentle nail care help strengthen them.
Fungal Nail Infections
Fungal nail infections are common, especially in toenails, and occur when fungi grow in or under the nail. They cause discoloration, thickening, and brittleness, sometimes leading to crumbling. Treatments include antifungal creams or tablets and managing factors like moisture or low immunity.
