Specific Lesion
or Spot of Concern

Not every patient needs a full-body skin examination. Sometimes you may just have one or two moles, lesions, or patches that you’re worried about. A Specific Lesion Review at DermLab is designed for these situations. Our Dermatologists will examine the area of concern in detail, use dermoscopy (a skin microscope) for accurate assessment, perform a biopsy on the spot if needed, so you don’t have to return for another appointment. This service provides rapid reassurance or early diagnosis — whichever is needed.

Why It’s Used

  • For patients with just 1–2 spots of concern

  • For a new or changing mole

  • For a patch that won’t heal

  • For reassurance after noticing sun damage or skin changes

  • As a fast way to rule out or confirm skin cancer

How It Works

  1. Focused Consultation – You’ll explain what’s worrying you and when you noticed the change.

  2. Targeted Examination – The Dermatologist examines the specific mole, patch, or lesion in detail.

  3. Immediate Biopsy if Needed – Most suspicious lesions can be biopsied at the same time.

  4. Next Steps – You’ll receive a clear plan, whether it’s monitoring, removal, or further treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If during your appointment the Dermatologist notices other concerning spots, we may recommend a full skin examination — but this can usually be arranged without delay.

  • Typically 10–15 minutes, unless a biopsy is required (which adds a little extra time).

  • Biopsy results take a few days, but the Dermatologist will explain their initial assessment and what to expect.
