Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a highly effective, non-invasive method for refreshing the skin’s surface and addressing specific clinical concerns such as acne, congestion, and irregular pigmentation. By applying a specialised solution to the skin, we can gently remove damaged outer layers, promoting the regeneration of smoother, clearer, and more evenly toned tissue.
At DermLab, we utilise medical-grade formulations tailored to your unique skin profile and treatment goals.
What to Expect from a Chemical Peel
Quick procedure – usually 15–30 minutes depending on the type of peel.
During the procedure, the skin is thoroughly cleansed before the peeling solution is applied. You may experience a mild tingling or warming sensation as the active ingredients work.
Post-treatment, skin may appear slightly flushed, similar to a mild sunburn, with light flaking occurring over the following days.
Fresh, renewed skin – results appear as new skin regenerates over days to weeks
Consistent use of high-factor SPF is mandatory following any chemical peel, as the new skin will be more sensitive to UV exposure.

While a single peel will provide an immediate "glow," clinical concerns like deep pigmentation or chronic acne usually require a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve significant, long-term improvement.
-
Most of our peels are "superficial" to "medium-depth," meaning downtime is minimal. You may experience some redness for 24–48 hours and mild peeling or flaking for 3–5 days. Many patients return to their normal activities immediately.
-
We recommend stopping the use of high-strength active ingredients, such as Retinols or Prescription Vitamin A creams, for 3–5 days prior to your appointment. It is also important to avoid direct sun exposure and waxing in the treatment area for at least a week before your peel.
